REWA LODGE

Rewa eco lodge

Located in one of the most pristine eco-systems on Earth, Rewa Eco-lodge is a nature lovers' dream.

Rewa village is a small Amerindian community located at the confluence of the Rewa and Rupununi Rivers in the North Rupununi Region # 9 in Central Guyana.

A home to about 361 villagers, mostly from the Macushi tribe with a few souls from the Patamona, Wapashana and Waiwai tribes. The Village offers a minimalist lifestyle through farming and living off the assets of nature, so expect a community that is un-spoilt by human interference. The area is renowned for its abundance of wildlife and ecological diversity. Through internal struggle and with the help of Conservation International (CI); in 2005, we the Rewa community founded an eco-lodge and began adjusting our traditional lifestyle from one of animal poaching to one that promotes ecological conservation and tourism as alternative livelihoods, in an effort to protect our land for generations to come.

The communities have a concept called “self-help,” where all the community members come together, volunteering to build something for the benefit of the community. The Eco lodge is one of Rewa’s greatest example of a ‘’ self-help” initiative.

We would like to welcome you to our eco-lodge and to share our rainforest home with you.
